This weekend, the direction Preste to finish the exploration and topography of the cave Sainte Marie. Indeed, during our last visit, we left a gallery of mine who went in front of the manhole to the river (see previous post).
Here we are on site, Seb, Marta and I in the early morning. After a quick snack, we go into the mine and we get to work. While Seb team down with Marta I see the river flowing with a gentle flow. The ledge is itself fast and well equipped by Seb. On the other hand, the gallery continues to ten meters to abut on a chimney Natural 5 to 6 meters high.
We finally had our goal in this entire Topographia small network. We then decided to seek Can Brixot cave which opens into the nearby ravine. Having forgotten the map, the search was unsuccessful. Marta and I descend on foot while Seb gets the vehicle left above. This will be worth crossing the Grand Hotel on the Swift on the red carpet, all in combination and bunch ....
We meet right bank of Tech, beside the road in front of the Swift and Topographia to visit the cave of the Swift. The cavity develops in a fracture system more or less parallel to the valley. Several passages in the marble are very beautiful. The boulders and the wells indicate the presence of water during floods.
We stopped after about twenty referred us to go walk in the main network. At times, the gallery reaches 4 m in diameter and is richly concretionary. You can even hear the river flow in the lower floors. Unfortunately we will not have time to push through the exploration in this small cavity that is worth seeing. In all cases, we will return to finish the topo ....
